Corporate Law

Owning and running a business requires not only the knowledge and acumen necessary to run that particular business, but also legal knowledge to avoid common errors that can be especially detrimental to business owners. For instance, did you know that if some corporations fail to comply with annual maintenance requirements, those businesses can be involuntarily dissolved by the Secretary of State’s Office? This means that the corporation can lose its legal status, which is typically the main reason business owners incorporate to begin with; to insulate themselves personally from liability. Consequently, however, when this occurs, business owners of the corporation are personally exposed to liability for the actions conducted within the business.
